This post is not an analysis of commercial video advertisements. It is an observation from the past year.

The relatively unbridled and immediate connectivity of us all has enabled a loneliness to manifest, or perhaps, it has brought to light a loneliness that has been lurking for some time.

But along with this explosion of connectivity, we have the opportunity to look at each pixel that makes up a post, communication, image, and story, to try to understand it’s depth. We have the opportunity to look at the connections that developed these communications. Where they came from and what their intentions are. We have the opportunity to peel back the layers to really listen to and understand the human behind the technology. Set aside our own burning desire to be heard, and interpret each message with the information available to us, both digital and non-digital. To increase the resolution of these communications before we formulate a response. So with that, we wont dive into the stylistic details which make these commercial videos powerful, except to say that the story drives the imagery, and that they are all very relevant stories from the past year.
